Alison Wilson

Occupational Therapist

Alison graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2006 with a BSc in Occupational Therapy. She is a registered member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). 

For the past 13 years, Alison has worked in Child Health Occupational Therapy, spending the last two years as part of the Neurodevelopmental team within CAMHS.

Alison’s extensive experience spans supporting children and young people with both physical and neurodevelopmental conditions. As a Child Health OT, she works in a variety of environments, including homes, schools, and clinic settings, to provide holistic and contextually relevant assessments. Alison collaborates closely with families, educators, and other key people in the young person’s life to help them achieve their goals. Her work primarily focuses on assessing and addressing functional and sensory differences that impact independence and daily living activities.

What do you do to switch off from work?
I enjoy walking my 2 miniature labradoodles.  I love spending time with my nieces.

Tell us something that none of your colleagues know about you?During the winter months I enjoy curling in club games and competitions.

What would your last supper be?
My last supper would be a stack of pancakes, with chocolate spread and fruit.

What did you want to be growing up?
I always wanted to be a nurse, and then fell upon Occupational Therapy, which was the right career for me.

Best thing about your job?
Helping children and young people problem solve and develop their skills in independence to reach their goals.
