Claire Lammie

Psychologist

Claire graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2006 with a degree in Psychology. Since 2007 she has been either working or training within the NHS which includes qualifying with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2015.

She then spent a number of years working in child services (Paediatrics and Child and Adolescent Mental Health). One of her roles was working with neuro divergence where she contributed to multi disciplinary assessment as well as therapeutic intervention. Since 2021, Claire has been working with adults within the NHS but still continues to work privately with children, young people and their families.

Claire has a particular interest in group work, workshops and interactive training.  Claire strongly believes that those with lived experience can bring powerful insight and knowledge which when shared, can contribute to a sense of connectedness.

What made you want to be a psychologist?
I’ve always been a curious person with a genuine interest in others. We can all struggle in life at times and when I thought about getting into this line of work, I felt that it would be a huge honour to be trusted with the stories of others. It has been and continues to be one of life’s greatest privileges.

If you weren’t a psychologist, what would you be doing?
I contemplated art school and interior design. So perhaps I’d be spending my time surrounded by swatches and paint samples!
