Lorna Muir
Founder and Director of 'The Muir Practice’
With over 20 years of experience and as the mother of two children she knows firsthand the positive impact and often life changing impact her team can have on those they work with.
Lorna graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2004 with Bsc Honours in Psychology and Speech Pathology and has extensive experience working across the NHS, as well as in the education and private health sector. Her experience is predominantly with adults and children with acquired neurological communication, cognitive and swallowing difficulties, with time spent working in Australia and in London. Throughout her career she has developed specialties in several clinical areas including social communication disorders, speech sound disorders, motor speech disorders and stroke rehabilitation.
What do you do to switch off from work?
Running with friends, walks on the beach with my family, swimming in the sea with my daughter and playing golf with my husband.
Tell us something that none of your colleagues know about you?
I was quite the dare devil when I was younger and loved extreme sports including down hill mountain biking, bungie jumping, cycling down death road in Bolivia!
What would be your last supper?
Delicious lobster cooked with garlic butter with salad and chips, aioli and a glass or two of bubbles!
What did you want to be growing up?
An accountant! Definitely made the right career choice!!
